Why choose ‘Bountiful Pink’?
Easy to grow – The ideal choice for both beginner and experienced gardeners. This low maintenance begonia has a compact upright form with dainty pure pink flowers.
Bountiful Blooms – Prolific flowering with intense colour over an extended period provides high visual impact making it a standout choice.
Indoor & Outdoor – Thrives in a variety of environments both indoors and outdoors. Whether used in borders, pots, window boxes or as a houseplant “Bountiful Pink” easily adapts making it an ideal addition to your plant collection or a perfect present.
Ultimate care instructions to keep your ‘Bountiful Pink’ happy and healthy:
Watering – Keep well-watered but allow the soil to dry out in-between. This is particularly important if you decide to plant your ‘Bountiful Pink’ in pots. This robust variety is quite drought tolerant so don’t worry if you keep on the drier side.
Frost free – ‘Bountiful Pink’ should be brought indoors over the frosty winter period and will make an ideal houseplant to brighten up your home either all year round or throughout the winter.
Deadheading – Begonia’s are self-cleaning so no dreaded deadheading is required. The petals will simply fall off when they are ready and they can be easily scooped up and composted.
No staking – ‘Bountiful Pink’ is a perfectly compact, upright variety meaning you have no need to faff around with staking.

Hello, we are Laura McArthur, Leif Mann, Beth Anderson, Jacob Hatch & Molly Parkin and we are proud to call ourselves the Blue Team and represent the YPHA Launch Success Challenge. Coming from a large variety of horticultural backgrounds we have drawn on all our experiences and have worked together to produce and market our carefully crafted concept for our brand-new Begonia ‘Bountiful Pink’.
Our Story
The YPHA Launch Success Challenge began in July 2024 when we adventured to the Netherlands as a team of 10 delegates. During the trip, we had the opportunity to visit Floramedia which is a leading horticultural communication company covering a broad range of services including marketing,
photography and printing for the green sector.
Our Begonia has been carefully bred at Beekenkamp, Netherlands following rigorous product testing and is now ready to be launched into the UK Market at British Garden Centres who are the largest family-owned garden centre company in the UK. We are proud that our Begonia will be launched into their 62 centres nationwide.
Following many seminars with industry professionals, we have worked closely together to deliver a concept we are proud of and we are exciting to see how our journey in the Launch Success Challenge progresses.
The Launch Success Challenge was designed to prioritise and progress many skills required within the horticultural industry but are often not taught under the traditional horticultural training. We were honoured to be selected for this exciting experience and have fully engaged with all the opportunities handed to us with the plan to utilise these new skills to market our begonia across British Garden Centre branches nationwide
Our next stop was Beekenkamp Plants who are a breeder and young plant produced of pot and bedding plants.
